Vali then discovered a beautiful valley in Italy, "Il Porto" where she spent 40 years in semi seclusion, give or take a young lover or artist friend, and fought to have the valley preserved from logging.
She returned in triumph to Melbourne, already well known in London, Paris and New York, which she loved.
Her had many exhibitons here and opened her own studio in the Nicholson Building in Swanston St. It is open as a Museum now.
